Group Long Term Disability Insurance
Since individual disability policies can be quite expensive, employers frequently
use Group policies to cover a basic need for most employees and leave only the
excess salary not covered by the group to individual policies. Group coverage
can normally be written to provide benefits equal to 60% of salary up to an amount
such as $10,000 per month ($6,000 monthly benefit.) This benefit would then be
reduced by any income the employee received from government plans such as State
Disability and Social Security. If the group is large enough, there may be no
health questions asked. Group policies normally are offered to people who work
in offices or sit at desks. These types of policies normally are not available
for blue collar workers or jobs where an injury such as a broken leg would keep
a person out of work.
We can provide you with further information on any Group policies available
to you if you call us at 1-888-PLAN AHEAD or contact us at info@vbscorp.com.
