Company History
From 1968 to 1983 Planned Equity Corporation (PECO) built a client list of 15,000 companies at which it offered a voluntary employee retirement plan that included life insurance and investments. In 1983, the four shareholders of PECO decided to divide the company into four separate entities and Voluntary Benefit Systems Corporation of America (VBS) was born.
VBS expanded its area of activity to include 401(k) plans developing its own proprietary record keeping system in 1992. VBS also became a distributor to brokers of Universal Life Insurance, when it was a new product in its infancyand maintains relationships with leading carriers offering Universal Life. VBS also made arrangements under which its representatives can offer* Variable Life Insurance and Annuities.
VBS's business activities today are divided into two areas. Employee payroll deduction plans for life insurance, disability insurance and retirement including 401(k) and 403(b) plans and highly sophisticated applications of Universal Life Insurance and Variable* Life and Annuity products to assist high tax bracket individuals maximize their after tax cash.
